#loveislove Celebrated at T.H. Palm & Company’s 4th Annual Rainbow Night
T.H. Palm & Company, a favorite Palm Beach boutique of both island guests and locals alike, proudly hosted its 4th Annual Rainbow Night on December 7.
Carrying the theme of “Love is Love,” the joyous event welcomed members of the local community to share in the handing over of funds collected by T.H. Palm & Company and its sister boutiques to various island foundations, as well as celebrate the island’s LGBTQ community. Of course, the evening also gave guests the opportunity to mingle over cocktails, wine, and noshes while perusing the enchanting emporium’s inspiring selection of gifts on the cusp of the holiday season.
For over 10 years, through the Tikkun Olam (Repair of the World) fundraising program, The Salamander Group's stores—T.H. Palm & Company, The Lazy Lizard, The Juggling Fish, and The Juggling Fish Swimwear—have supported various local foundations that work tirelessly to make Aruba a better island on a daily basis. Shoppers play an important role in the program, as they are given the opportunity at checkout to choose which of seven different island foundations will receive a percentage of their purchase, generously donated by The Salamander Group.
Rainbow Night serves as the annual culmination of the program, whereby each charity is individually acknowledged and presented with a check. On Thursday, Jodi Tobman, the managing director of The Salamander Group, invited several Rainbow Night attendees to hand over the checks, with each check presenter adding their own unique words of gratitude. The program’s 2018 recipients were Bon Nochi Drumi Dushi, Telefon Pa Hubentud, Mary Joan Fundacion, Fundacion Pa Hende Muhe Den Dificultad, Fundacion Autismo Aruba, Fundacion Konigin Wilhelmina, and Ateliers ‘89.
The evening’s theme of “Love is Love” was also extended to the island’s LGBTQ community. Two years after Aruba passed the law for same-sex partnerships, the local LGBTQ community is still fighting for acceptance and tolerance, and T.H. Palm & Company stands proudly behind these efforts. “Rainbow Night is all about acknowledging the community that is still fighting to open minds and hearts on our island so that equal rights can be obtained for all,” explained Jodi Tobman.
The T.H. Palm & Company team made a tremendous effort to ensure that all guests felt warmly welcomed and well taken care of. Guests enjoyed delicious local snacks catered by “The Little One,” and the sgroppino, a typical Italian cocktail, was the featured drink of the evening, along with plenty of wine for a wonderfully festive atmosphere. While the guests were enjoying themselves, photographer Maya Stoppels captured their joyful moments and laughter.
With the holidays just around the corner, the invited guests took the opportunity to get their Christmas shopping started, choosing from the boutique’s recently refreshed selection of gifts. Leave it to T.H. Palm & Company to offer everything from a silly book for that opinionated aunt to beautiful dresses and hand-picked jewelry for the discerning women in your life. The ladies in the room had a blast crossing names off their Christmas lists while the men enjoyed the various collections of men’s clothing, hats, accessories, and thoughtful books.
Overall, it was a beautiful evening for The Salamander Group and all the esteemed guests who “shared the love” at T.H. Palm & Company.
