Jeon gives electrifying performance at Renaissance Aruba
Celebrating the property’s Global Day Of Discovery.
Last Tuesday, Renaissance Aruba Resort and Casino hosted an acoustic concert at their private infinity pool with local artist, and well-known musician Jonathan Thiel, better known as JEON. The property celebrated its seventh annual Global Day of Discovery, bringing the local hero on property for guests and locals to enjoy. His performance was exhilarating!
Global Day of Discovery is a yearly initiative put on by Renaissance Hotels, the global lifestyle brand known for helping travelers experience business unusual on the road. The brands 160 hotels around the world host special events that incorporate a local treat for guests and locals alike to enjoy. For one night only, each property incorporates a neighborhood experience, special mixology, gastronomy, nightlife and/or entertainment aspect to their property programming.
JEON, who has created a brand name around the ABC islands and in the Netherlands, is currently on a U.S. tour with singer/songwriter JBalvin. The duo came together to record the hit single ‘Machika,” an original composition by JEON that also features Brazilian singer ‘Anitta. The local singer has made his name in the region with ten #1 hit singles on the islands’ top charts, and millions of views on YouTube, along with several awards over the years.
The evening was also experienced by Aruba Tourism Official, Mr. Dangui Oduber and broadcasted live via local radio station Magic FM. Guests received complimentary drinks and hors d’oeuvres, and also had a chance to taste the special ‘Machika’ punch, created from local ingredients and served at a dedicated bar on the pool deck. “We were in awe of the performance; each year we bring a taste of Aruba into our resort, and this year’s acoustic concert by our own JEON was one of the best celebrations yet.”, said says Janien Huistra, Director of Sales and Marketing.
