Good Friday is an official Aruba holiday
Good Friday in Aruba is an official holiday and forms the beginning of the long Easter weekend and the start of the Holy Week, "Semana Santa" in Papiamento. As most Arubans are Catholics, many locals attend church in remembrance of Jesus' death. A special event is held each year at the church in Dakota, starting at 10 am.
Keep in mind:
Good Friday is an official Aruban holiday, you can expect shops, gasoline stations, supermarkets to close early or stay closed the entire day.
