Four Aruban Events to Have On Your Radar In 2024
This summer, the iconic singer Mariah Carey will take to the stage on the shores of the Caribbean Island of Aruba to perform at the 22nd edition of the Aruba Soul Beach Music Festival, taking place 22-27 May. She will be playing alongside other renowned R&B musicians, local artists, DJs and comedians.
The festival is one of the many events taking place on ‘one happy island’ this summer, with others including the vow renewal ‘I Do’ festival taking place in August, and thrilling water sport events such as the Hi-Winds kitesurfing races and the Aruba International Regatta.
The festival, which will take place 22 – 27 May, will see renowned artists, including Mariah Carey, welcomed onto the main stage in the Harbor arena (Oranjestad). She will be playing alongside other renowned musicians, such as Earthquake and Skip Marley as well as local artists, DJs and comedians. Other than concerts with world-class artists, the five days are jam packed full of events, such as: beach parties, comedy shows, pool parties, block parties.
The annual Aruba Hi-Winds festival, created by two friends in 1986, is the longest-running water sports event in the Caribbean. With competitions in kitesurfing, windsurfing and kite cross, athletes, both beginner and professional, get together to showcase their skills and visitors watch the spectacle from Eagle Beach, named eighth best in the world, in Tripadvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best Awards. The competition brings with it a strong feeling of community and sense of pride of the Aruban culture.
This sailing event is a three-day extravaganza on water with yachts, catamarans, sunfish, kitesurfers and windsurfers competing in exciting events on Surfside Beach. On Friday, 28 June, an opening event will be held and visitors can then watch the weekend races from the shores whilst enjoying the music, beach parties, and dinners before watching the sunset. The Regatta will take place in June for the first time, allowing younger sailors to compete in the races during their summer break.
The I Do Festival is the perfect event for married couples that want to plan a romantic summer getaway. At sunset, on the shores of Eagle Beach, hundreds of couples from all over the world arrive to the beach to take part in the Caribbean’s largest vow renewal ceremony every August and celebrate their love for each other. It is a chance for couples to say “I do” again on one of the world’s best beaches*, in one of the Caribbean’s most romantic settings.
