Aruba implements Mandatory Nationwide Health and Safety Protocols

The new ‘Aruba Health & Happiness Code’ certification will help ensure the safety and well-being of Aruba’s visitors and locals.

The Aruban government’s number one priority is making sure exacting cleanliness and hygiene measures are in place, on an island-wide level.
The Aruba Health & Happiness Code certification provides assurance that Aruba’s businesses have taken every measure to offer a safe environment for employees and you, our beloved guests. We want every place in Aruba, to be Your Happy Place.

To obtain the Aruba Health & Happiness Code seal and receive visitors, businesses are required to perform an on-line assessment and adhere to mandatory protocols. A second, on-site assessment by the Department of Inspection and Hygiene determines final approval for the Aruba Health & Happiness Code seal.

When you land in sunny Aruba, know that the Aruba Airport Authority has worked closely with the Department of Public Health and followed World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines to implement numerous measures, such as screening, temperature checks, on-site medical professionals, social distance markers and additional shields and safeguards, mandatory PPE training for all staff, and more.

As you travel through Aruba, you’ll find peace of mind and the Aruba Health & Happiness Code certification seal of approval on businesses like Hotels and Resorts, Taxis, Car Rentals, Restaurants and Bars, Casinos, Retail Shops, Tour Operators, and more. The Aruban Department of public health has also created the Aruba Health App. A handy mobile resource for visitors to see which businesses have the Aruba Health & Happiness Code certification.

Also, rest assured knowing that the Aruba Hotel & Tourism Association has implemented a “Best Practices” guide that elevates the existing cleaning protocols for all facets of the guest experience, and visitors can expect such safety measures as plexiglass barriers at desks, digital keys, contactless check-in, and more.

A message from Danguillaume Oduber, Minister of Tourism, Public Health and Sport of Aruba: “We want all visitors to feel reassured in traveling to our One happy island, knowing we worked together as a nation to implement the highest health and safety protocols through every step of their journey.”

We look forward to welcoming you back to Aruba soon!
